VR Concept Unveils Major Software Update: "Power, Multi-Platform Support, and New Capabilities"
VR Concept, a leading multiplayer platform for VR project creation, is proud to announce its latest software update. This update marks another step forward in the development of our proprietary 3D engine, strengthening our position in the VR solutions, simulator, and training markets.
The update introduces significant improvements aimed at enhancing performance, expanding multi-platform support, and providing powerful new functionality.
Key Updates and Enhancements:
1) Core Optimization and Multi-Platform Support:
We've undertaken a comprehensive code optimization, upgrading to the C++17 standard. This transition has resulted in performance and security improvements. By refactoring the code and eliminating Windows dependencies, the core of our product is now fully multi-platform. VR Concept is now certified for compatibility with Alt, Red OS, and Astra Linux, making the platform more versatile and ready for deployment across various operating systems.
2) Blueprint Visual Programming:
We’ve introduced a node-based visual programming system that allows users to create interactive scenarios without needing programming knowledge. Blueprint offers 23 functional blocks, including scenario triggers, type conversions, random number generation, and object control (move, rotate, scale), as well as animation playback. This feature dramatically accelerates the development of interactive projects, giving both developers and users greater flexibility.

3) New Physics Simulation Engine:
We’ve transitioned to a new physics engine, unlocking extensive potential for future developments. The update introduces support for rigid body physics, with customizable parameters for gravity, friction, bounce, body types (static, dynamic, kinematic), simulation speed, density, and mass.
The enhanced physics system includes:
- Gravity settings: Fine-tune gravity for objects, creating more realistic simulations.
- Friction and bounce adjustments: Precisely simulate object interactions.
- Body types: Manage static, dynamic, or kinematic objects for flexible control.
- Simulation speed control: Adjust the speed of physical simulations for detailed behavior modeling.
- Density and mass settings: Fine-tune object properties for realistic physical behavior.
These new features will enable the creation of more sophisticated and realistic virtual environments, with enhanced object interaction and new possibilities for application and game development.
4) Sound Plugin Update:
The sound plugin has been fully rewritten using ffmpeg technology. Previously limited to the .wav format, it now supports a wide range of popular audio formats, including mp3, flac, acc, ogg, mp4, mkv, and webm. This significantly improves multimedia integration and the use of sound in VR projects.
5) VR Screenshot Functionality:
Users can now take screenshots within VR mode again, with images automatically saved to the "Pictures" folder.
6) "Follow" Mode in VR:
This new feature allows users to anchor their position relative to other objects in the scene, including moving objects. This is particularly useful in training simulators requiring a first-person perspective, such as vehicle or drone control simulations.
7) FRAME Mode:
FRAME mode allows users to explore virtual environments without needing VR equipment. Using a standard monitor, keyboard, and mouse, users can interact with objects in the scene through the VRPN system, expanding access to VR environments for users without VR devices.
8) TeamCenter Integration:
We have integrated VR Concept with TeamCenter, enabling users to view and modify objects in the virtual environment while saving changes directly to the TeamCenter database.
Bug Fixes:
- Resolved crashes in VR Concept Launcher when adjusting quantity parameters.
- Fixed transparency issues with GLTF models.
- Corrected audio playback issues with the SimulationManager plugin.
- Addressed various issues to improve stability and performance, including fixing crashes in the Mechanics Manager and SimulationManager plugins, as well as errors with SAT, DXF, and IFC model imports.
We are confident that these updates will significantly improve your experience with VR Concept and provide even more tools to realize your most ambitious projects.
